"Sam in New York" is a multi-media project consisting of two graphic novels ("Sam in New York" and "The Book of Joel") and an illustrated anthology of short stories ("Sam in New York: The Anthology") and comics (links to read them are here), as well as an upcoming free-to-play visual novel (for mobile and computers).
In the graphic novel "Sam in New York," you experience life (with all its twists and turns) through the eyes of Samuel "Sam" Abramov, a rambunctious young man torn between his parents' desire for him to be a professional and his own love for the stage. By turns hilarious, heart-wrenching and haunting, the visual novel version of "Sam in New York" will give you the chance to write (and re-write) his story, identity, and relationships. The graphic novel also has different endings and split timelines, each exploring different aspects of Sam and the people close to him.
"The Book of Joel" is a graphic novel centering on Sam's friend, Joel Farber, an introspective, morose young man with a rich yet turbulent inner life. Focusing on his thought processes and emotional growth as he falls deeper in love with his girlfriend, Malka, "The Book of Joel" is a surreal, emotionally charged inner journey.
