Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!
Here, Joel is the Demon from Lermontov's "Demon" poem, which @tete.depunk and I have analyzed and compared to my Tapas graphic novel, "The Book of Joel," here: https://youtu.be/c2OWeFKOV_k
Like the Demon in the poem, he's watching Malka as she dreams of something pleasant. He is tempted to kiss her, but his self-denial, hubris, and obsession with stopping himself from fully enjoying anything are blocking him.
We get some Sleeping Beauty and Beauty and the Beast vibes here as well :D
